Juanita’s platform is centered on one objective: ensuring that Compton College provides students with the education, resources, environment, and opportunities necessary to succeed.
College should lead somewhere.
Juanita supports expanding Career and Technical Education programs that prepare students for careers in growing industries, skilled trades, healthcare, technology, public service, and other fields offering sustainable wages and advancement.
She will continue advocating for stronger connections among the College, employers, organized labor, industry partners, and workforce development organizations so students can move more directly from education into opportunity.

Academic ability means little if a student does not have a stable place to sleep.

Juanita supports responsibly exploring student housing and other strategies that address housing insecurity and basic needs while protecting the College's long term financial stability.

The goal is not simply getting students enrolled. It is creating conditions that allow them to remain in school and finish.

Juanita supports expanding partnerships with local school districts so more students can earn college credits while completing high school. Greater access to dual enrollment can reduce the cost and time required to complete a degree while introducing young people to college earlier.

Juanita supports responsible investment in classrooms, technology, facilities, infrastructure, and learning environments that reflect the expectations of a modern college and prepare students for a rapidly changing economy.

Financial circumstances should not determine whether someone has access to education.
Juanita will continue supporting policies, partnerships, financial resources, and student services that make attending and completing college more attainable for working families, first generation students, adult learners, and students returning to education.
✓ Strengthen Campus Safety & Student Well Being
Students learn best in environments where they feel safe, respected, and supported.
Juanita supports a comprehensive approach to campus safety that includes physical security, mental health resources, emergency preparedness, prevention, and a campus culture centered on student well being.
✓ Bring the College Closer to Area 4
Representation requires more than occupying a seat.
Juanita wants families throughout Paramount, parts of Bellflower, North Long Beach, Lakewood and the surrounding District to better understand the educational and workforce opportunities available through Compton College.
That means stronger community outreach, partnerships with schools and community organizations, and making certain Area 4 has a visible voice in decisions about the College's future.
